Kydo is a versatile object - a practical toolbox designed to transport small utensils and everyday accessories. It adapts effortlessly to different environments: at home in the kitchen or dining room, in the garden, or in the office, where it organizes stationery in an elegant and functional way.

Its convenient handle allows for safe and easy carrying of a variety of items, from bottles and glasses to cutlery, tea and biscuits, as well as magazines and books.

The Kydo tray is inspired by the ancient Japanese art of kyudo. The defining idea comes from the poised gesture of the archer preparing to release the arrow, expressed through the handle, which echoes the form of a drawn bow. Elegance, grace, and strength - combined with flexibility and durability - are the principles that guided its design.

The process began with an image from an ancient Japanese print depicting an archer drawing a bow. From this initial inspiration, a series of sketches led to the concept of a tray with a cylindrical handle designed for easy transport.

The idea developed naturally and intuitively. Kydo reflects Gejst’s design DNA: simplicity, timeless elegance, craftsmanship, and high-quality materials.

From the outset, the project suggested its own materiality and color palette. The form is shaped through the use of solid and curved wood, while contrasting colors highlight the construction and emphasize its structural character.
