DAIKU Picture Frame
Daiku is a picture frame that beautifully combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with clean Nordic design. Designed by Gejst Design & Amalie Bergholdt, the frame is inspired by centuries-old Japanese woodworking techniques such as Kumiko and Sashimono, giving the impression of a seamless construction without visible joints.
Named after the Japanese word for carpenter, Daiku reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail.
Crafted from solid oak and featuring floating glass panels, Daiku creates the illusion that artwork is suspended within the frame. The oversized glass extends beyond the wooden structure, creating a distinctive and elegant expression that highlights photographs, art prints, pressed flowers, and personal keepsakes.
Daiku is available in natural oak with clear glass for a light and minimalist look, as well as Dark Oak with smoked background glass, which adds depth, contrast, and a more dramatic expression. Both versions embody the timeless balance of Japanese craftsmanship and Nordic simplicity.
